Videographer, photographer, and yes, juggler.  William and Mary and Earlham graduate committed to helping people let their inner light shine through visual storytelling. Has guided hundreds of productions from concept through publication, using scriptwriting, field, studio, and flypack production, directing, and editing skills. Passionate about helping youth find their voices and tell their stories.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Arlington Independent Media (AIM) 2012-Present

  • Produced hundreds of videos starting from conceptualization and ending with publication.

  • Writes scripts, schedules talent and crew, shoots, edits, and publishes video.

  • Supervises production teams of all ages and experience levels.  

  • Teaches and develops video production courses for all ages. Courses cover all aspects of video and audio production.  

  • Directs youth video programs including summer camps, after school programs, and internships.

  • Interviews and selects temporary hires to staff youth programs.

  • Edits movie camp footage under tight deadlines for end-of-camp screenings.

  • Directed and supervised paid high school interns for multiple documentary programs including Document Historic Arlington, which I created in partnership with Arlington County.  

  • Created iPad movie club to teach visual storytelling and stop motion videography to elementary school students.  

EYE (Empowering You to Express) Video Production (Founder) April 2010-Present

  • Works with organizations to create instructional, informational, and marketing videos to highlight their missions and celebrate their impact.   

  • Guides clients to formulate the scope and goal of each project.  

  • Executes all stages of production including planning, scripting, shooting, editing, and publishing.

TV Production Teacher (long-term substitute) for the Communication Arts Program (CAP)  – Blair High School, Silver Spring MD. August 2011-June 2012

  • Developed and taught a year-long intermediate video curriculum that covered all stages of the process from production through editing.  

  • Managed and assessed three classes of 23 students each.

  • Guided students to complete five major video projects covering a variety of genres.

  • Collaborated with a team of teachers to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Specialist – Apple Store, Pentagon City. April 2010-August 2011

  • Sold Apple products by listening to customer needs and offering solutions.

  • Taught One to One personal training sessions which often included video editing lessons.

  • Provided troubleshooting for Apple products.

  • Created, produced, and edited videos for the school news to support the Student Services Department.

  • Founded and facilitated Peer Mediation–a program that trains students to facilitate resolution of peer-to-peer conflicts.
